The Freeman Awards for Study in Asia are for students studying in the specified Asian countries listed on their website. Plus3 Pitt Johnstown Business

Plus3 is your first chance to study abroad at Pitt. This two-week, three-credit interdisciplinary experience is a partnership between the College of Business Administration and Swanson School of Engineering. Your travels to one of six countries will give you a firsthand glimpse of globalization through industry-specific company tours, Q&A sessions with executives, and academic lectures that provide cultural and political perspective.
Information on 2021 opportunities will be announced during the fall 2020 semester. 

Asia Institute Scholarships for Pennsylvania Students

The Asia Institute has recently launched a scholarship of $2,000 in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Council for International Education (PaCIE) to support learning experiences for students traveling to Asia. This scholarship is open to any student from a university and/or college in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, who is enrolled in an Asia based study abroad experience next year.

Early Childhood Education in Florence: Undergraduate Program

Florence is the ideal setting to study the differences between early childhood education in the US and Italy. This program utilizes classroom lectures, guest lectures, and visits to educational institutions around the city.  On this program you will get an introduction to language and literacy practices for children birth through grade 4 in the U.S. and Italy. You will also be introduced to the varied theories and practices of teaching young English Language Learners as well as Best Instructional Practices used in the ESL classroom and the mainstream classroom.
 

Pitt in Ghana: Culture, Music, and Health

The Pitt in Ghana: Culture, Health and Music is an interdisciplinary program established in collaboration with Department of Africana Studies, Department of Music, African Studies Program, Anthropology, and other departments such as History and Political Science. This six-week, nine-credit summer program is designed to provide you with a unique educational opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture, society, and languages of West Africa. After your first week in Pittsburgh, you will depart for Ghana where you will remain for five weeks studying culture, music, and health issues.

Pitt in Greece

Pitt in Greece is a true travel adventure! This is a mobile program that has us spending a number of days at various cities throughout Greece. We have our “second home” on our own bus that magically takes us through the Greek countryside and mountains to our next destination! Along the way, you meet all kinds of people! You literally “see” history as you make your own history! We learn as we go; we don’t stop!
