DAAD RISE-Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE)

Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) is a summer internship program in Germany for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. RISE offers unique opportunities for Bachelor students from North American, British and Irish universities the opportunity to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 2 to 3 months during the summer.

Junior Year in Munich

Junior Year in Munich: Advanced students of German language (2+ years of university study) design their own program with a combination of local university courses and JYM-taught language and area studies courses. All courses taught in German. Internships and research projects can be arranged. Housing is single studio apartments in the student quarter.

 

 

 

FUBiS

FUB/iS (Berlin): spend the Summer in Berlin, a city of contrast of fusion, old and new. Take courses in English with American and international students in subjects ranging from Art to Philosophy and many in between at Germany’s largest multidisciplinary summer university. Extracurricular programming and activities are arranged by the program. Housing is homestay or shared apartments.

 

 

 

FU-BEST

Fall and Spring terms that follow a “typical” North American academic calendar (summer program is www.fubis.org) offering a wide range of subjects are available for students in this dynamic, young, and affordable European capital with easy access to many cities. English-taught courses in cultural studies, art history, literature, history, political science and more complement mandatory German language class. All levels available, so no need to know German to apply.

AJY Heidelberg

Fall, Spring, Summer and Academic Year options are offered in this beautiful and centrally-located historic city in Germany that is home to one of Europe’s oldest universities. Language courses at all levels are offered and advanced students can choose courses at the local university. Internships can be arranged for qualifying students. Housing is single rooms in dormitories with shared kitchens. During the summer, homestays are available. 

Pitt in Munich

This program consists of 4 weeks of intensive German language study and a culture course taught in English.Classes will be taught in 2 2-week blocks with one week in between for cultural activities and excursions in and around Munich, the capital of Bavaria.
NOTE: Students are required to have taken at least 2 semesters of college-level German in order to be eligible to participate.
