Francis Gooding is a writer and researcher in music, art and film. He is a contributing editor to the London Review Of Books and Critical Quarterly, and a regular columnist at The Wire. He worked as a researcher and author on the Colonial Film: Images of the British Empire project (colonialfilm.org.uk). His book Black Light: Myth and Meaning in Modern Painting was published in 2009.
