Eva Albertsson was born and raised in Kristianstad in southern Sweden, the proximity to the continent perfect for her as she loved to spend her holidays traveling and learning new languages. She graduated from Lund University in 1990 with an MA in Languages Education, teaching English and Swedish. Work assignments moved her and her family to Australia and South Korea among other places until she ended up in Pittsburgh, where she is the Swedish Instructor for the LCTL Center since 2004. After almost 20 years away from Sweden, she still feels like she has two homes – when she is in the US, she goes ‘home’ to Sweden and then back ‘home’ to Pittsburgh. It gives her a unique perspective to observe all the changes Sweden is going through today, as she compares the country she was raised in with the country she comes back to visit today.
