KAIST International Summer School- South Korea

 

Spend a 4-week summer term in Daejeon at one of South Korea's most renowned scientific and technical universities! Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology (KAIST) is a major world player in engineering development and innovation. The summer program offers courses taught in English that integrate science, technology, philosophy, and art to ensure a comprehensive education.

Program Dates: July 3rd to July 28th, 2023

KAIST is a member of Global E3, an exchange program of Engineering Schools from around the world. 

Requirements:

  • Good academic and behavioral standing
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Please check partner school for specific requirements

Cost of the program:  Please check with the provider's website. Please note once you are registered for the program, you will be charged the $300 study abroad fee through the Pitt Pay system. Remember that your lifestyle and spending choices can greatly affect the amount of money you'll need while abroad.  Visit our Budgeting page for more information.

Academic Description: 
Please visit the KAIST International Summer School website for previous course syllabi and the most up to date information on available courses. Past courses offered at KAIST International Summer School include: Biomedical Imaging Idea and Expression Basic Korean and Korean Culture Emerging Nanofabrication Technology Vision, Brain, and Art Art and Philosophy You may take up to two (2) courses depending on their scheduled time slots for a total of 6 course credits. Courses are offered in the morning and in the afternoon.

You must first be nominated by the Swanson School of Engineering Global Experiences and Engagement Office, then you will be directed to apply to KAIST. Prior to being accepted, please visit the KAIST'S website and read the application instructions and application deadlines.
