Oakland Campus Students

Welcome to the Study Abroad Office!

The University of Pittsburgh takes great pride in its internationally programming options. As part of the University Center for International Studies (UCIS), the Study Abroad Office is an integral part in a student's international education. In addition to study abroad, students should consider pursuing one of the acclaimed certificate programs offered through UCIS. These certificate programs enable a student to become specialized in a particular area of the world or a global theme.

Students who choose to study abroad to further enhance their international education should first plan to attend Essentials, a group orientation session designed to introduce the study abroad process to University of Pittsburgh students. After Essentials, depending on a student's major, they should plan to visit with the appropriate study abroad advisor and begin the program selection process. Engineering students should visit the Engineering International Programs Office. CBA students should plan to visit the CBA Study Abroad Office. CGS students may visit the office in the McCarl Center or the Study Abroad Office in 802 WPU for further information. Students from all other majors should visit the Study Abroad Office in 802 WPU to begin the process. An outline of the study abroad process is provided in the Getting Started pages. Students are also encouraged to visit the Finances pages to search for scholarships and determine whether or not their financial aid will be applicable to their study abroad experience.
