Panther Programs are programs that have been developed by faculty from various departments and schools within the University of Pittsburgh. Pitt students are most often accompanied by the Pitt faculty member who developed the program will teach one (or more) of their regularly taught courses abroad. All Panther Programs offer Pitt classes for Pitt credit and in most cases grades will directly impact a student's GPA.

As part of the expanding demand for programs in the College of Business Administration and the School of Engineering, the three Pitt-Developed summer programs for students in ENG and CBA have enjoyed tantamount success recently, setting record numbers and receiving national acclaim. The Plus 3 Program, a two week addition to the mandatory ENG 12 and MCE courses is open to all freshman engineering and business students. It has also recently been awarded the Heiskell Award for Excellence in Study Abroad.
