Making It Happen has been making headlines!
Staff from both the Study Abroad Office and Disability Resources and Services have been asked to promote the film and its mission at a number of conferences and events throughout the United States. Additionally, Making It Happen has made a number of appearances in the press!

AHEAD National Conference


NAFSA National Conference, May 2007 (Minneapolis, MN): In May 2007, Carol Larson and Jeff Whitehead from the University of Pittsburgh's Study Abroad Office as well as Victor Matkovich and Andrew Emery from Outsider Entertainment premiered Making It Happen at the NAFSA National Conference in Minneapolis.


AHEAD New England Conference, April 2007: In April 2007, Carol Larson, Director of Management,, traveled to the Regional AHEAD Conference in New England to discuss the film and the collaboration between the Study Abroad Office and Disability Resources and Services at the University of Pittsburgh. Making It Happen Pittsburgh Premier: On Wednesday, 7 February 2007, the University of Pittsburgh's Study Abroad Office, University Center for International Studies and Division of Student Affairs hosted the Pittsburgh Premier of Making It Happen at the Holiday Inn Select in Oakland. A tremendous success, staff from the Study Abroad Office had the pleasure of welcoming over 100 guests from the University of Pittsburgh as well as study abroad providers throughout the United States.


NAFSA National Conference, May, 2006 (Montreal, Canada): Carol Larson, Assistant Director of Study Abroad at the University of Pittsburgh, presented at the National NAFSA Conference in Montreal in May 2006. At this presentation, Carol addressed the mission of the film, its progress, and showed a short teaser. A copy of her presentation is available below in PowerPoint as well as PDF format.

A World Awaits You (AWAY) Article featuring Brennan Rhodes: Brennan has been an intern in SAO, studied in Barcelona with ISA and is very active in our initiative related to students with disabilities.  She is also featured in the film that we are currently producing.
