Direct Enrollment Policy:
Effective Fall '06 students may enroll directly in a foreign institution and seek to transfer the credit they earn to the University of Pittsburgh. During that period they are not enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and are not counted in any enrollment model. Upon their return, their grade reports from the foreign institution are reviewed by their school to determine whether or not transfer credit will be granted. As long as students have registered for classes at the University within the last three terms, they remain active in the student system and can register for classes again after their time abroad. All financial matters are the students' responsibility, including the status of their financial aid. It is also the students' responsibility to provide their own health insurance.
This policy does not apply to students enrolling in foreign universities affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh.
The direct enrollment policy was established by the Office of the Provost.

Designed and compiled by Peer Advisors at the Study Abroad Office,
The Road Less Traveled gives returned study abroad participants the opportunity to showcase their creative endeavors from their time overseas.
