Congratulations on taking the first step toward one of the most rewarding experiences of your college career! Below you will find an introduction to our offices and services, and online Sign-Up for an Essentials Session.
There are three Study Abroad Offices on the Oakland Campus: Our main office is located in 802 William Pitt Union, we also have satellite offices in the College of Business Administration and the School of Engineering. (For those of you at any of Pitt's Regional Campuses, please click here to find the appropriate contact person at your campus.)
Our Resource Areas are loaded with information about Study Abroad and are great places to get advice and research your options. All of our advisors have first-hand experience studying and traveling abroad. We also have a very reliable group of student interns and volunteers, all of whom have recently studied abroad, who are available to share their experiences and help you through the Study Abroad Process.

All students planning to study abroad are required to attend a mandatory Study Abroad Essentials Session. These 45 minute workshops will give you the information you need to begin the Study Abroad Process. Topics include a full range from program selection, receiving credit, having your courses approved, to transferring financial aid.
This is a very important first step. Essentials sessions give you a great opportunity to ask questions, narrow down program choices, and gain valuable insight on how you will study abroad. You will also have the opportunity to meet other students beginning the process, you'll get to hear what some of your peers are planning to do and maybe get additional ideas for yourself. There are generally 15 students in each essentials session.
After you sign-up below, download the Student Handbook, print out a copy, and bring it with you to your Essentials Session.
